Evening with the Stars

Join the York Simcoe Amateur Astronomers for a night of celestial discovery on Friday, June 28, 2019 (rain date June 29) at George Richardson Park, Newmarket.  We will be set up at the north end of Bayview Parkway near where the Canada Day fireworks are held.  Club members will be on hand to guide you through some of the most intriguing objects in the night sky.  Look through a variety of telescopes and bring your own if you have one!  Members can provide tips on using telescopes and astro-imaging.  This free event begins at sundown (approx. 9 p.m.).  Weather permitting.  For more information call (705) 887-3411.

Our purpose:

The purpose of our club is to give amateur astronomers the opportunity to meet and observe on a regular basis.

  • Age is no barrier, you just need to be interested in the night sky.
  • Experience is not required, you just need to be interested in the night sky.
  • You do not need binoculars or a telescope, you just need to be interested in the night sky.

You get the idea.
